Hamilton Girls High School

HGHS LogoAt Hamilton Girl’s High School we are committed to encouraging our students in their learning, and expect each one to be ‘unapologetically academic’. We want our young women to be strong, and to be independent learners who are only satisfied when they reach their ‘personal best’. We expect them to want to be thinkers, critiquing what they see and hear – being feisty, positive contributers!

We are delighted by our academic results. We are proud to announce that last year our Year 13s gained 14 Scholarships across a wide range of subjects. As a staff we are impressed with – and proud of – how our Year 11, 12 and 13 students in 2008 sustained their motivation and academic focus throughout the senior school.

At Hamilton Girls’ High there are rich opportunities to be involved in a wide variety of sports and cultural activities. We have a strong Girls’ High Academy which embraces sports, and the arts. Those with special talents and gifts are assisted here. Another important arm of our academy is to get as many girls as possible involved in sports, culture and the arts.

We are very committed to our ‘Pride in Girls’ High campaign, which spans every direction of our lives. It is reflected in our respect for each other, how we work together, our sparkly and colourful school spirit, in how we present ourselves and how we enjoy and look after our physical and emotional environment.

It is our pleasure to share our school with you. Enjoy! Mary Ann Baxter, Principal
